Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI--6.3, 4.2, 0.25; EcoRI--4.3, 3.0, 2.6, 0.55, 0.2; SacI--8.0, 2.8. The insert contains the following restriction sites (according to genomic position): XhoI--1642; BamHI--1926, 2148; EcoRI--2414, 2474, 3034, 5646, 6105; BglI--3408. The clone is infectious. This isolate produces milder symptoms in turnips than the strain cloned in ATCC 45145 does. This isolate also infects Nicotiana bigelovii and N. clevelandii. Contains the compete genome, interrupted at the SacI site that occurs at nt 5822. |
