Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--2.75; BamHI--3.2, PstI--3.2; HindIII--3.2; SmaI--3.2. An EcoRI digest analyzed on a 6% acrylamide gel revealed a band at 0.2 kb. This is a subclone of hMLC-1 which is specific to MLC1 RNA. Detects an mRNA of 1 kb in fast muscle fibers. pMLC1spec contains two inserts of 0.2 kb each. |
