Mortimer RK, et al. Use of pulsed-field gel electrophoresis to study the chromosomes of Saccharomyces and other yeasts. Methods 1: 169-179, 1990.
Strains X2180-1B (ATCC 204655) and XMD9-20D (ATCC 204656) show chromosomal length polymorphism for chromosome I (clp1-L and clp1-S respectively). In strain X2180-1B, chromosome I is longer (by about 20kb) than in strain XMD9-20D. The latter strain has a deletion near the centromere, resulting in centromere linkage for ade1.
