Contains internal ClaI (1), PstI (1), ScaI (1), and XmnI (1) sites. Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI--4.3, 0.76 (doublet); PstI--3.5, 1.3, 0.4; ScaI--3.6, 1.4, 0.76; AvaI/ScaI--2.4, 1.4, 1.2; ClaI--4.2, 0.92, 0.76. Has TCGF (T-cell growth factor) activity on HT-2 cells and MCGF (mast cell growth factor) activity on MC/9 cells. Induces significant Ia activity and enhances production of IgE and IgG1 by LPS-stimulated B cells (BSF-1 activity). The BamHI fragment of pCD-2A-E3 (approx. 0.76 kb) containing interleukin 4-coding sequences plus some pCD vector sequences (total insert size is approximately 750 bp) was cloned into the BamHI site of pBR322.There are two copies of the insert. |
