Strain was checked for the following phenotypes: showed growth on LB + erythromycin (150 mcg/ml), white colonies on Xgal + IPTG, white colonies on Xgal + IPTG + erythromycin (150 mcg/ml). Recommended for pHPS9 (ATCC 37816, 37817) to permit alpha-complementation and plasmid marker rescue transformation for transformation of competent cells with plasmid monomers. pHPS9R serves as the helper plasmid. Differs from pHPS9 (ATCC 37816, 37817) by partial removal of chloramphenicol resistance sequence (downstream of the NcoI site) and removal of the P59 promoter and sequences encoding the cat86::lacZalpha fusion. |
