Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--5.4; HindIII--5.4; BamHI--5.4; EcoRV--5.4; PstI--4.4, 0.35, 0.15; PvuI/NdeI--3.0, 1.7, 0.7. The insert contains the following restriction sites (nt from the 5' end): PstI--185, 497, 789; PvuII--273. Encodes the complete mature apoE protein except for 8 amino acids at the amino terminus. Detects a mRNA of about 1.4 kb in mouse liver. Excision by a partial PstI digest retains the extra Cs from the homopolymeric tailing. |
