The insert contains two internal BglII sites which will give a fragment (about 2.5 kb) from the insert. Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BglII--4.3, 2.8, 0.15; BamHI--4.2, 3.1, 0.1; SalI--7.3; PvuII--7.3; PstI--4.5, 1.75, 1.2. The insert includes the entire coding region and 50 bp 5' untranslated and 1.5 kb 3' untranslated sequences. Shows 87% homology with hamster cDNA in the coding region. Recorded as not polymorphic by Collaborative Research, meaning either not polymorphic in 0.8% agarose gels, or difficult to work with. |
