The insert includes these restriction sites (nucleotide position according to the published sequence): BamHI--45, 1075; SacI--473. Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--3.2, 1.5; HindIII--4.6; BamHI--2.7, 1.0, 0.7; PstI--4.6; SacI--4.6. This contains the complete coding sequence, plus a 5' untranslated region of 31 bp and a 3' untranslated region of 864 bp. This detects a major placental transcript of 3.85 kb and a minor transcript of 4.8 kb. It did not hybridize to adult liver poly(A)+ RNA. |
