Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--8.0, 4.4; BamHI--12.4. pHPV-2 (6-2) from common wart. Entire genomic DNA linearized at EcoRI site into EcoRI site of pBR322 Under standard conditions, no homology is detectable between HPV-1a, HPV-1b, HPV-2a, and HPV-4. Under less stringent conditions, the HPV DNAs and BPV-1 demonstrate about 30% base mismatch. Circular HPV-2a was linearized with EcoRI before cloning. |
