Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BglI--3.1; BglI/PvuII--1.9, 1.2; AvaI/BamHI--3.2; EcoRI/HindIII--2.8, 0.4; HaeII--1.8, 0.75, 0.4. Detects genomic restriction fragments of the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--16.0 (human), 5.8 and 4.6 (weak) (Chinese hamster); BglII--4.3 (mouse), 5.4, 2.9, 1.6 (Chinese hamster). Corresponds to nucleotides 1796 to 2089 of the published sequence which begins at -170. Includes sequences from part of exon 1, all of exons 2-5, and most of exon 6. A repeat-free probe recommended for cDNA and genomic blotting. The ends were blunted before insertion into the vector. |
