Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI--5.8; EcoRI--3.05, 2.95; HindIII--4.3, 1.65; PstI--3.3, 1.85, 0.6; SmaI--5.8. Clones K4-1.1 (ATCC 63043) and K3-1.1 (ATCC 63044) differ in the 5' end of the insert. Nt 638 of the K3-1.1 insert equals nt 132 of the K4-1.1 insert. The insert has an open reading frame of 1593 nt, 552 nt of 5' untranslated sequence and 851 nt of 3' untranslated sequence. It has an atypical N-terminal sequence and may represent an alternative splicing product. The overall protein structure is quite similar to human ICAM1 and there is 50% homology at the amino acid level. |
